Announcement

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Edible Landscapes and most Sustainable Living Arts School classes (except those listed below), workshops and nursery sales will be closed until the fall.  The website will be updated intermittently as required.  Thank you for your continued support!

Consulting & Services

Edible plant enthusiast Robin Wheeler provides consulting services.

With Robin's diverse experience in plant siting she can quickly look at your space and make a plan for turning it into the best edible landscape it can be.  Robin blends native, exotic and conventional farm plants in a natural environment to meet your dining tastes and medicinal requirements while respecting local habitat.

Consulting in person or over the phone, and seed & cutting starts are part of Robin's gardening services.

Custom Garden Consult - 1.5 hours Special!  $100

Find out how to squeeze more food plants into your existing garden.  I will visit your property and help you assess your problem sites and advantages, ID unknown plants when possible and point out edible "weeds".  I will take your list of wishes and hopes for your garden and begin a plan that will superimpose your ideas over your existing space. You will end up with lists of actions to get you started, and we will draw a loose map so that you have a reference point for future changes.

Edible Garden Consulting

Sometimes we have an established garden and just want plain old advice to shake us into new habits and ideas. Robin will visit your garden for $85 per hour (Local Sunshine Coast, BC area) one hour minimum.

Other Services

Seed and Cutting Starts

Have Robin start your cuttings or seedlings, or Richter plant packs.

Kind Words

Great Reading

(Food Security for the Faint of Heart) is a book for those who know the truth of what's coming, but would really rather "be in Colorado" as Judi Collins would say. It's kind and gentle and submerges the reader gently into a "panic" bath. It would be great if the naysayers were all wrong; then we could laugh at their silliness. But there's this small voice telling us they're right, and we'd do well to follow this book's advice. From Amazon Reviews

M. McFadden (Maine)
Well-written, Fun to Read, Easy to Follow Basic Food Storage

I have read about food storage off and on for years and this is one of the best -- well-written and engaging. The initial suggestions for getting started on a rotating storage system are easy and doable for most people... no giant root cellar construction needed.  From Amazon Reviews

Jean Cottel (Oregon)
A Delightful Read

(Gardening for the Faint of Heart), Wheeler’s first book, is a delightful read, full of humour and down-to-earth advice.
